4 Ideas for Decorating Your Front Porch for the Holidays

If you are lucky enough to have a front porch on your house, there’s no reason why you can’t brighten it up for the holidays as well. Below are some ideas that you can use to help you get started.

Go for a Neutral Look

If you aren’t one for bold or bright colors during the holidays, you can go with a more neutral theme. Try using décor with neutral colors such as door mats, baskets, lanterns, etc to create a matching look. You also can add something flocked to the porch, like a small fake tree or a wreath. This snowy look is going to be a great addition to your neutral look.

Go Faux

Decorating with faux trees, garlands, and wreaths has a couple of advantages. First, you can begin decorating really early and they are going to look great throughout the season.  Second, you don’t have to worry about sweeping up pine needles when Christmas is over. Faux items can also be easily dressed up with bells, bows, lights and a lot more.

Keep the Look Simple

This is especially important when your front porch is smaller. Small pieces of décor such as a festive doormat or a wreath on the door can go a long way. You can also put some lights around your door.

Work with Natural Elements

When you use nature to decorate it can help with sprucing up your porch and front step. A fresh garland around your door’s frame, a beautiful, lush greenery wreath on the door, and a faux tree can look amazing.

These are four ideas that you can use to help you get started with decorating your front porch. And don’t forget, I make custom welcome signs if you want something new for the holiday season! Contact me with any questions.
